About Me
My name is Nicholas Cutola, and I am a junior at Stockton University. I am a Criminal Justice Major with a concentration in Homeland Security. When I graduate college I am hoping to obtain a career in the government department of Homeland Security. When I am not in school I am most likely working at the famous Renault Winery. Besides work and school the only other things I do are play video games and watch sports.
Twitter and PLNs Change the Way Teachers are Teaching
In today's day of age, technology is changing the way educators and schools teach children. Many educators are beginning to use Twitter, one of the biggest social media platforms, to help improve the learning experience in and outside of the classroom. There are countless accounts on twitter that are created from individuals in all different lines of work.
Many teachers are using twitter to gain knowledge and new learning methods from teachers all around the world. The teachers create this type of community by making a PLN, which is basically just following a bunch of well respected people in their field of work. Educators also use a method of searching categories or hashtags to find articles or people that they can relate to. Twitter chats are also another resource that twitter allows teachers to take advantage of. Teachers can start Twitter chats with professionals in their field as well as help other teachers develop new ways of learning. Twitter and PLNs are helping shape and better the way educators teach around the world.
Blogging and Everything That's Changed Over the Years
Blogs have become one of the best ways that people can speak freely about their views and opinions on anything going on in the world. Blogging, along with all other technology has drastically changed over the years. In the last five years, the time it takes to finish a blog post has gone up almost 70%. As of 2019 it would take people an average of almost four hours to finish a post. Not only have blogs began to take more and more time to complete, the amount of words in a post has also gone up.
Along with all those numbers sky rocketing in the last few years, there has also been an increase in the amount of original research bloggers due to prepare themselves for the post they are getting ready to write. Over 90% of bloggers in today's day of age use pictures throughout their blog posts. Not only does it help the reader obtain a visual representation for what the person is talking about, but it also makes the post look better. then just paragraphs of words. As the years go by blogs are expected to see an increase on the time and effort that goes into them. The more human civilization evolves, the more blogs will continue to see their content increase.
Twitter and It's List Function
Twitter has a lot of valuable functions that people can really take advantage of. One of the best functions you can use is the list function. Everyone starts out on twitter only following a couple people, but over time you eventually grow that following list in to hundreds of people. As an individual begins to follow more and more people, their Twitter feed begins to pile up with articles are posts that they don't like to see every time they go on. Twitter lists allow you to highlight and select certain people and separate them onto their own feed. This allows you to see the content that you are interested in instead of all the content that you don't want to see. Twitter lists is a great function and it can help individuals with keeping track of topics they are interested in.
